3-minute response time to emergency situations should not be overlooked!
In Sweden, a 71 year-old man was saved by the arrival of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from the skies. That medical device was delivered by an autonomous drone that was sent by the emergency call centre within 60 seconds of the phone call.
Air traffic control was notified as the Everdrone took the skies, being monitored by a remote pilot-in-command, flying under 500ft. Once it arrived, the AED was dropped by a tethered rope and the drone returned back to base.
These AED's are easier to use for untrained personnel while they're being guided by the emergency center over the phone. It's amazing the possibilities of drone delivery for quick response situations, especially when they're stationed strategically across an area.
